Welcome to our new website. This is an exciting adventure for us, here at Compass Travel. We have been planning our new platform for months and are thrilled to offer this valuable online service to our clients.

It is believed that the compass was invented during the Qin dynasty in China, about 220 B.C. Since that time, explorers have relied on this simple magnetic device to help them find their way across unknown territories. I thought it was appropriate to entitle my blog Compass Points because our role is to help you navigate the globe, pointing you in the direction you want to go.

I will be posting a blog entry every week or so to keep you abreast of news and events happening here at Compass Travel and in the wider world. I hope you will check in regularly to see what’s up!

Throughout this site, you will find information about our staff and the services we provide, our escorted tours, ideas for trips to suit your every desire, great travel tips, and links to some of our favorite sites. We hope you will take the time to explore these pages and dream about your next adventure. We are here to help you with the many details of planning so that you will be assured an enjoyable trip. You can even follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn for news and updates!

Also, we would enjoy hearing from you — please send us any comments, ideas, experiences, photos, post cards and travel tips that you would like to share with us. And, remember this sentiment from Mark Twain:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

From Holly (in Italy)…

Greetings from Italy!

Today we have been exploring Amalfi, a picturesque 6th century town along the Amalfi Coast, in southern Italy. The water seems to blend every shade of blue imaginable and the sheer cliffs overlooking the sea are truly spectacular. It is enchanting! Everyone is having a wonderful time. I will try to write more soon — between dining and shopping!

And, don’t worry if you missed this tour. We have another Italy tour coming up in October…

Ciao!
